My baby's first flight at 10 weeks old!

At 10 weeks old my daughter took her first flight. I now write this in disbelief. I guess I didn't know better! ha She took her 2nd flight one week later at 11 weeks old. How in the world did I do this? I should say "we" as I know traveling with my children was only made easier because I had the help of my husband. Packing at this point was easy. I would calculate the number of diapers needed and add a few extra. I didn't really take a purse, I just had an attractive diaper bag which doubled as both. The great thing about babies is that their outfits are easy (you get to pick) and they are SMALL! Another thing that made traveling easier is that I nursed. So, there were no bottles or formula to pack. I admit, while traveling I nursed on demand. Meaning, whenever there was stress and nursing would relieve it - I did it. I know some of you think that sounds crazy as that could mean little or no relief for mom, but I focused on the "cons" of this type of arrangement. At an early age, I liked that my baby was always with me or near me. So, it didn't matter that I was the only one who could feed her. Plus, nursing relaxed ME as well. And, in between feedings I did pass her off. On the first flight we were headed to my sister-in-law's engagement party in D.C. Because my daughter was only 10 weeks old, I couldn't imagine leaving her with anyone AND I did want to go to the party. So, we went. My daughter did great, and many people volunteered to hold her. We left when we needed to leave. I was able to show off my new baby and go to a party in D.C. and have a good time!
